Posted - 02 Nov 2007 : 10:53:33 Here is something different that I've never come across before. It's a light green BIM. glue bottle from the 1880's or 1890's that reads, "William A. Davis, U.S. Treasury Mucilage, Boston, MASS., USA. Unfortunately, this picture does not do the bottle any justice as the quality of embossing is stronger than it appears here!

Posted - 02 Nov 2007 : 15:00:21 Hi Nate! I found that exact bottle diving with the guys a few years back in Fowler Lake here in Oconomowoc. I listed it on Ebay and if I remember right it brought over $40.00.It was a rubber cement or adhesive for envelopes in those days. It came out with some early cone inks, and other household bottles. Nice find! Tom |
