Posted - 20 Feb 2008 : 23:07:10 In honor of Steve getting an extremely rare FESS pontilled medicine, I thought that it might be neat to post some of the pontil bottles that we have found. Despite the fact that I have found literally dozens of bottles in the years that I have spent diving, I can count on one hand the pontilled ones. Here's one that I'd like info on if anybody knows anything. I'm sure it's national and probably not rare, but hey, I never find these so, I'm proud of it. The pictures show the whittled front, the twisted neck, and the ring of pontil on the base. Sweet!

Posted - 21 Feb 2008 : 22:42:43 Here's a big crier for me. This is not even very close to being a whole bottle, though. BUT it does have an iron pontil mark. I have never found another piece of one. This is, in fact, my entire graphite pontil collection.

Posted - 21 Feb 2008 : 22:38:11 Okay. Here's my next pontil. I found this right before Tom (the Kid) got certified. He saw me in the water in Oconomowoc and came to talk to me from shore. I was excited about this bottle and he was like, 'Dude. It's not even from Oconomowoc. Calm down.' (Or something like that).
This is embossed Dr. D Jayne's Carminative Balsam

Posted - 21 Feb 2008 : 22:31:07 Hey Tony. Nice bottles and they are hard to find (even as common national ones). You're not going to believe this. I found that Radway bottle out diving! No joke. However, mine has a "28" on the bottom. Here's a picture.
