I got out last night at about 6:30 pm with storms approaching in Pike Lake. I didn't find too much but I suppose it was something different. I wound up with a swivelling anchor, a (modern) lure, a couple of crowns from Dietzler (Hartford), and a cream city brick that has a name stamped on it. I think this thing is actually pretty cool. I will post a picture later . . .

Here's my boy helping me by carrying some gear down for me (the dive flag).

And here's that cool brick. It has a nice professionally done stamping. I have been able to gleam from the internet that it was likely made in the town of Mexico, Missouri. I cannot tell if the brick was a special one (designed for use in a stove or something)or if they just made some or all of the bricks this way.

Hi Bob,
Nice brick! I actually have been saving those to put a row on the edge of the entryway to my front door. As you know my whole driveway is paving bricks. What I was told was that years ago, most or many bricks did have a name stamped on them. I have found some awesome bricks diving (mostly in rivers, especially Fort, as well as Delafield creek, and the Bark river in Hartland)

Wherever there was a town with a river going through, many bricks got pushed in there. They also used them to make dams. Here are a few I have. Most of the great ones I find are broken ort missing a corner so I only keep completely intact ones now.

Those are nice bricks! I like the color contrast too. They should make a cool entryway.
