What Prohibition couldn’t kill, the Great Depression took care of. The Gutsch family operated this wonderful brewery under many names for 86 years. There were several ownership combinations. The company managed to survive Prohibition until 1933, but then couldn’t make it past the tremendous financial difficulties in the 1930S.
