Bechaud Brewing Co., Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin

Color-Light Green

Size-Pint (Approx.)

This blob bottle from the Bechaud Brewing Company in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin was one of many prevalent blob bottles of its time. The Bechaud Brewing Company was founded by 3 immigrant brothers from Germany with three separate parts in making their company successful. Beginning in 1871, they sold beer to much of Fond Du Lac and surrounding areas. The three industrial brothers brewed an ale called Empire Beer in amber bottles that are highly sought after by collectors today.

While serving their popular ales before the prohibition, they remained open also during the prohibition, selling root beer to it's clientele. It wasn't until after the prohibition ended and serving barrels of beer for many years when the company could no longer survive. After sales went under, the doors of the Bechaud Brewing Company closed in 1941.
