August ran this operation from 1867-1875 which became Schmidt & Schunk in 1879. Louis Schunk managed it until 1896 and Jacobina Schunk until 1901. It became Berlin Brewing Co. until Prohibition, then Berlin Products Co. until 1933. It then resumed as Berlin Brewing Co. until it closed in 1964. The owner continued as a beer distributor until 1972. There’s a McDonalds’s there today.
