Christian Sheibe, Centerville, Wisconsin

This brown blob-top bottle is labelled “CHRISTIAN SHEIBE, CENTERVILLE, WIS.” Right after the end of the Civil War In 1866, Christian Schreiber of Manitowoc moved to Centerville to give the local brewers some competition. He was quite a competitor. He built his brewery and by 1878, his brewery had a capacity of 1500 barrels a year.
