J.B. Maxfield Milwaukee Stoneware antique butter churn

Scott Riser kindly allowed this photo fall 2008. The image is of a four gallon cobalt flower decorated Maxfield Milwaukee butter churn. This antique Milwaukee stoneware churn is embossed; "J.B. MAXFIELD MILWAUKEE" This pottery churn is also stamped with the number four delineating its four gallon capacity. Maxfield used this stamp between 1855 and 1858 in his stoneware factory.
