Maxfield Milwaukee 3 gallon pottery crock

This photo of a magnificent example is courtesy of Scott Riser fall 2008. This Maxfield three gallon stoneware eared crock dates between 1855 and 1858. Just about the beautiful cobalt flower is the crock is incised, "J.B.MAXFIELD MILWAUKEE" This antique Milwaukee clay crock is also decorated with a cobalt three.
