Ritmeier's California Wine Bitters Milwaukee

Interesting square bitters bottle from Milwaukee. The standard color is medium amber like the one on the left. The lighter colored one is rare. They are embossed "W. RITMEIER'S" on one panel and on the opposite panel "CALIFORNIA WINE BITTERS". It has an applied lip and dates from the 1880's. The city is not named but this is a well known company from Milwaukee, Wis.
