Schlitz-New York

This great looking bottle from a New York branch Schlitz Brewing company of Milwaukee is embossed with a large globe and "P. M. OHMEIS & Co. SOLE AGENTS NEW-YORK". What is interesting about it is that the lightning closure is attached directly yo the blob by being inset into dimples in the blob. This method was typical of German beer bottles, but was rarely used in the US. Most likely it was made in Germany.
