Stamm, P.

This early clay bottle is from Fond Du Lac Wisconsin. The stamp on the bottle says simply "P. STAMM" but the stamp is all but obliterated by an unusually heavy salt glaze. The bottle dates from the 1860's or 1870's. Phillip Stapp operated a grocery store and confectionery on Main street. The bottle most like contained soda or mineral water but could also have been used for beer or ale. It is quite rare.
