4125 ? W. Schoenig Menomonee

Wow! This very rare (and transitional looking) antique soda bottle features a tombstone (horseshoe shaped) slug plate, an oval blob, and a misspelled city. It comes from the vulture of bottles, Mr. Mark. Thank you. The embossing reads, "W. SCHOENIG MENOMONEE WIS." I'm wondering if this may have been an alternate spelling for the city as this error occurs on other bottles?

There is some question as to whether or not this is really a hutch, or whether it is a pre-hutch. The bottle is transitional with a blob that looks more like an early mineral water. However, these bottles often turn up with hutchinson stoppers. The fact is that the bottlers of the time were more interested in selling their product then putting a label on the type of bottle they used. This bottle is a very late blob soda or a very early hutch. Either way, it's a fantastic, early and rare bottle.
