C Elser Oshkosh WI

The Union Brewery was operated by John Glatz and Christian Elser in 1869. Oshkosh was the second largest city in Wisconsin at the time with a population of about 11,000. Only Milwaukee was larger. Oshkosh had five breweries. Inscription reads “C ELSER OSHKOSH WIS.”
